
KS1 Football tournament
Team Friars mixed KS1 Football Team were at the Southend Football event at The Len Forge Centre. The team battled through the cold and wind playing some great football against other local schools. There were some amazing goals and even better celebrations by our young players. Well done.

Yr 3/4 football
Last week 16 Year 3 and 4 Boys braved the Arctic conditions to take part in a football match between themselves.
The Blues took on the Purples in an evenly matched game which was played in good spirits. In the end the Purple team came out winners 2-0 with goals from George and Max.

Chinese New Year celebrations
Chinese New Year was brought to life at Friars Primary School and Nursery when they were visited by a real Chinese Dragon. The children were treated to a traditional dragon dance which was accompanied by loud rhythmic drumming. During the dance, the children fed the dragon with red envelopes containing a silver coin and one child got to feed the dragon a cabbage which it promptly spat out all over them! Year 5 Healthy Relationship Workshop
Year 5 participated in a Relationship Workshop, on Wednesday 16th January, which spoke about some thought provoking issues and engaged the children in what they thought a healthy relationship looked like. The children worked collaboratively in groups with scenario cards to identify healthy features of relationships as well unhealthy features.
